Dr. Sounthone Nanthavongdouansy

With over 20 years experience in Medical field, Dr. Nanthavongdouansy has been in the frontline in the uplifting healthcare and sanitation programs in many Asian countries like Cambodia, China, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos and Australia. He has worked for institutions such as UNICEF, WHO, Australian Red Cross, Care International, Save the Children Australia and others.
His work is focused towards providing health programs in the village and district levels such as HIV/AIDS Awareness Education, Reproductive Health, Malaria, Human Resource and Social Development, and Health Care Waste Management. He is working closely with the Ministry of Health in Laos PDR at National, Provincial and District levels to research, develop and implement projects for rural communities. He is currently leading the way in using ICT for rural areas to have access to vital health information.
Dr. Nanthavongdouansy received his Medical Doctor degree at University of Health Sciences in Vietiane, Lao PDR in 1985. He completed his Diploma in Health Education in 1991 at the Gandhingram Institute for Rural Health and Family Welfare Trust in Tamilnadu, India. In 1996, Dr. Nanthavongdouansy took his Master of Public Health (MPH, Major in Management) at University of South Wales, Australia. He is based in Laos PDR. |
